Disappointments and Excitement

This week has been a little up and down for Kacey and I. We found out this week that we will not be going to Phoenix for at least another six months. This is a huge disappointment but life goes on.

Seeing as we will be here in the Denver area for a while, we decided that it is worth it to move into a bigger apartment. And.... WE FOUND ONE! We are both REALLY excited about it. When we were originally looking for a place to call home we fell in love with an apartment complex called The Estates at Tanglewood. Well... August is in the peak of moving season and the rent there was OUTRAGEOUS!!! But seeing a it is not moving season, rent is down. And luckily, the Estates is an Equity Residential property, just like the one we are currently living in. This means that we can transfer without breaking our lease! Therefore, Kacey and I now have a move-in date of April 20!!!!! All we are waiting on is our application to go through, which shouldn't be a problem seeing as we are currently residents and our credit has improved since we've gotten married and I've taken care of the finances.

Needless to say, we are ECSTATIC! It is another 3rd floor apartment, which I don't really like but I can live with it just fine. It is 975 square feet, has black appliances, and cherry wood cabinets. I'm really excited that it has a laundry room! It only has one bedroom but it also has a study (which I guess could be used as a bedroom... but the doors are glass). It also has 2 patios/balconies. They are both rather small but they are usable. One is right off the bedroom and the other is off the dining room. and it has a COAT CLOSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I could be so excited about a stupid little closet! Oh and speaking about closets.... the master closet is big enough for us to put our bed in.... IT'S A KING SIZE BED!! Can you tell I'm excited to finally have enough room for both my and Kacey's clothes?

This is a HUGE change from our current 687 square foot apartment we are now in, with our washer and dryer in the kitchen, and our computer in the dining room, and closet so filled with stuff that you can't even walk in it.

Here is a picture of our new floor plan.

We think this will be a very worthwhile move for us!

What Boredom Does to Me

Last night I just did not want to go home and sit. I knew I had a lot of cleaning to do but I really just wasn't in the mood. Well I got back to Thornton around 5:30 but didn't go home until about 8:30. I litterally walked around Walmart for a good hour and a half and didn't buy a thing besides what I went there for. Then I went to Michael's and spent another hour and a half there, but my trip there was a little more eventful. Here's what I ended up doing after I got home.

New Discovery

About two weeks ago, my co-workers convinced me that I needed to go to the doctor. I had been coughing uncontrollably and ridiculously hard. Almost everyone in the office had a sinus infection or was on some sort of antibiotics. On the 24th of February I went to the doctor convinced that I had the same thing. However, I found out that I had bronchitis, but did not need antibiotics. I also found out that the pain I was having in my chest was from a pulled muscle from coughing so hard all the time, so the doctor prescribed me a cough syrup with Codeine in it and told me to use a nose spray for my congestion. After taking the cough syrup, I woke up like this...

I had hives all over my face, neck, and arms and I couldn't feel half of my face due to the swelling. I called my mom and she said I was probably allergic to Codeine. She asked me about my breathing and eye sight and I told her both were fine. She also told me to call the doctor when they opened. In the mean time, I got ready for work and went in. When I got there my boss thought someone beat me up. It became the running joke in the office. I got a hold of the doctor and described my symptoms to her and she said I am definitely allergic to the Codeine. The doctor told me that if I had any trouble breathing to go to the emergency room right away. She told me to take a ton of allergy medicine and to continue to take Zyrtec for the next week. The doctor also said she couldn't prescribe me anything else and I'd just have to deal with over the counter medicines. They didn't help but luckily I was able to get a lot of sleep and the cough started going away. Over the next week or so the swelling eventually went down and the hives went away. I am still dealing with a little bit of a cough and what feels like dry skin from the hives. I'm just glad my reaction wasn't any worse than it was.

My Helper

Everytime I try to sort our laundry, I have a "helper." She has four legs and brown spots above her eyes. I figured that since she loves to help me do laundry (by sitting on my lap) that she would like to wear some of it.
