the worst blogger known to man. Pretty sad really. Anyway so here is an update of what we have been up to over the last six months. Hang in there... this could get long.
Well back in May/June Kacey and I ordered a couch to replace our beloved bean bag. We had to pack the bean bag up to put it in storage... Here's some pictures of that. There was foam everywhere!
Kacey has always had a fascination with curly hair and has bugged me for I don't know how long to figure out a way to do it. Here is the closest I got. Kacey says he likes beach curls too so it worked for him.
We have some "lovely" neighbors that don't know how to take car of their kids and pretty much let them run wild. One day Kacey came home from school to find their 1 year old in the parking lot in his diaper with the parents no where to be seen. Later that same day... I found this. Ridiculous really.
So then came the Fourth of July. My mom was originally planning to come up to see us but then she got a call about my grandparents' declining health and thought it would be better for as much as the family as possible to go to Ely, Nevada to see them. So that's what we did. My mom and Maddy, Ann and her kids, Abe, and Karen and Titan come out. We went to a true small town parade that turned out to be quite impressive, watched fireworks, went to my cousin Emily's wedding, and played with my nieces and nephews.
In this picture Kacey was playing with my nephew Titan. They were throwing rocks in the stream. Titan wanted Kacey to pick up a bigger rock and through it in the water. Kacey pretended he couldn't pick it up and Titan said, "Tome on Tacey, You CAN do it!" in a very Bob the Builder like way. (pretty darn adorable) Kacey continued to pretend to struggle and Titan said, "Oh... maybe you tan't do it" haha
On the way back to Idaho, Kacey and I got stopped for a while due to construction.
The end of the semester came and Kacey and I headed back to Colorado to work over our 6 week break. Kacey and I both ended up with 3.9 GPAs. We stayed at Kacey's parents' house for the most part. I ended up working for IKS (Physiotherapy) doing mail stuff and Kacey did a little contracting and worked in a siding warehouse.
While home a little of things happened I guess. First we saw our kids.
I also decided that I wanted to minor in Photography and bought my new Canon 50D. I LOVE IT. Here's a couple pics from when I first got it.
Granted these are all on fully automatic mode so I really didn't do anything special to make them look good.
My sister Amy was pregnant and so Ann, my mom, and I wanted to give her a baby shower. So I made these invites.
They turned out really cute. Picture it with the purple embossed and a white bow on the top.
Little did we know that Amy would go into labor early and have little miss Olivia Camille before the shower. Olivia had a few health problems that ended up in some time in the hospital so don't be alarmed about the tubes. She's OK now.
Then we had Amy's SURPRISE baby shower! We gave Amy a pedicure, ate lots of food and played a couple games.
The end of our break was coming to a close and with Olivia in the hospital, Amy's kids were staying with my mom. One night the girls decided to have a camp out.
While home, Kacey and I found out how much financial aide we were being given for the coming school year. Kacey ended up with a $1,200 grant and I ended up with a $800 grant AND a full ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP. I was with my mom when I found out about the scholarship and I burst into tears! We are SO blessed.
Then back to Rexburg we went. School started in early September and we bid our families good bye. But I got to come back to lovely Colorado for my best friend's wedding. It was gorgeous and Leah and Tim were glowing.
(these ones should get bigger if you click on them)
Since we've been back Kacey and I have gone "caving" at the Civil Defense Caves. These caves are COMPLETELY black and I guess at one point the government thought about hiding nuclear weapons in them. The pictures I have inside the caves were taken with a flash because it was PITCH black.
My birthday was on October 10. I woke up the day before really sick. On my birthday we went to church at 9am and by the time sacrament meeting was over I was about to die. Kacey took me home and let me sleep until about 4pm. We had made plans to go to my friend, Brittney's house and celebrate with her and her husband. Luckily I felt better after my LONG nap and we went. Kacey bought me candles for my cake as was so excited about them. Unfortunately since I was sick we didn't get to use them on my actual birthday.
Kacey and my mom went in together this year to get me my birthday present. I LOVE IT!
That boy will make me a housewife yet!
It sews and does a little embroidry. I've made 2 aprons with it and am working on a Christmas present for my brother.
The same week as my birthday Kacey went out and bought me a piece of cheesecake (I LOVE CHEESECAKE). He called me down one night and this is what I found.
Yes, he fit 22 candles on ONE piece of cheesecake! I sure love my husband! And, yes, I got all the candles in one shot.
Since then, we've just been going to school for the most part. During this semester Kacey and I haven't had to work so far because of our financial aide. However, yesterday Kacey and I both started working in Idaho Falls since the semester is almost over and we'll need to pay our bills on our own until April. Kacey is working at Best Buy and I am working at Michaels (aka Heaven).
That's our life for the last 6 months and hopefully I'll stop being a slacker and blog more often because I know there is so much I've left out.
P.S. If you've made it this far you should be VERY proud of yourself.
