Christmas Tree

Before Thanksgiving, Kacey and I had some extra money and decided to buy a Christmas tree. It's not the best tree but it is a 3 dimentional as opposed to our paper tree last year. I rather like it. Anyways... tonight, I decided to decorate it. Here's the pictures.

Here's the fireplace too.

Last year, my mom gave us an ornament of our little family. I decided that I want to have a tradition where we get a new family ornament every year. Kacey didn't want to spend the money to buy one at the mall so I went to Michael's and found one that I could paint... it turned out alright.

Bored

Does anyone else ever get bored with their life? I know I sure do.... same thing day in and day out.... it's just not fun or interesting at all. I've felt this way a lot lately and frankly it's getting old. I guess you do what you gotta do... right?

Making Cards

So I have come to realize that my blog has become a place where I only talk about my cricut and what I do with it... and I'm sorry for that but it is just too darn cool! Recently I've discovered how to make multi-colored cuts out of pretty much what ever I want. Which is pretty cool and will save me a lot of money in the long run.... this is what I've done with it so far.
I have now ventured into card making.... I've almost run out of pictures to scrapbook. Here are my first attempts at card making.... nothing all that great but I'm learning.

NEW HOBBY!

Kacey did a REALLY good job for my birthday this year... which was about a week and a half ago. I've been wanting to get into scrapbooking for a long time but just never had mean to do so. It may have just been a lack of motivation on my part but scrapbooking can get expensive. It's so nice to have a hubby that remembers what I tell him (when it suites him, of coarse). But this time he listened. Kacey took a trip to Utah a few weeks ago and came back with a BIG present for me. My wonderful hubby got me a cricut! And not just any cricut... he got me the cricut expression! (here's a link for those who don't know what it is http://www.cricut.com/shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?id=123&s=5&sc=1) Anyways, I was and still am extremely excited about it because now I have no excuse to not scrapbook. I have always liked the dicuts you see in scrapbook store but they are so stinking expensive and now I can make my own! Here's my new creations... the pages don't have pictures yet because I haven't made it to Target to get them printed but I'm too excited to wait!

Big Bear Peak Hike

Kacey always seems to talk me into doing crazy things.... like 12 miles hikes. Probably because he doesn't tell me how long things like this are until he are already there and walking. Anyway... we took the dogs along this time. We never made it to the end of the trail because it started to get dark and we were worried about the dogs making it back if we kept going.
This is our trail part of the way... other parts weren't so bad

Time to get back on track!

So the past couple of months I've noticed that my clothes don't fit like they used to. Although, I believe I have been in denial because I didn't want to believe I was gaining weight... but the past couple months I've come to actually admit it. Yesterday was my breaking point... Kacey said, "I really liked how skinny you were when we met and got married." Hm.... I believe my "beloved" husband just called me fat. He says that's not what he meant, but... what else is it supposed to mean?! Anyways, I don't take it personal at all and I know he loves me so he's not in any trouble. Besides... it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Today, I went to Walmart and bought a scale.... something I've been scared to do. It's a pretty nice one that measures body fat and everything. When I got on it today, it was worse than I expected! I've gained almost 40 pounds since our wedding day and am only 2 pounds away from being considered "over-weight." I thought I had gained closer to 30.... but nope 40!!! Not to mention how high my body fat number is! Anyway, before we got married I found a website (www.sparkpeople.com) that helped me maintain my weight while I was as school so I would fit in my wedding dress... I decided it was a good idea to get back on it and start tracking EVERYTHING again. Sparkpeople gives you meal plans and an exercise program to help you either maintain where you are or get to where you want to me. Honestly, its a pretty great site.... plus IT'S FREE!!! Plus, I tend to do better when I actually have to track what I'm doing. I don't exactly eat what they tell me, but I do watch my numbers... it also tells you how many carbs/fat/protein/etc... you need to get in a day to reach your goal... those are the numbers I say attention to. I hit the gym and actually survived 35 minutes on the elliptical and felt pretty good afterwards! I was pretty proud of myself! When I started working out at CSU I was lucky to survive 15... so I was pretty surprised that I got through it! Anyway, I've decided that I don't want to ever be unhappy with my body or my health and I need to start making a habit of taking care of myself. Maybe, one day, I will actually be able to take my dogs on a run (something I can't do now because of my knees / I wouldn't be able to breath).
It's time to make a change! Wish me luck!

Black and White

Me and my photoshopping habit.... I've recently been messing with making pictures black and white. I've always had a love for black and white photography. I think it first started when I was little and saw the black and white photos with the red rose. It's pretty much what inspired my wedding colors/theme. Anyway... here are my recent photoshopping experiments.

CAMPING!

On Tuesday, July 28 Kacey and I took off camping after I go off of work... keep in mind that I get off at 11:15 at night. Kacey's whole family was going so we decided to go as well. Kacey's parents went up on Sunday and then the rest of the family came up for different parts of the week. Anyway, Kacey and I arrived around 1:00 in the morning and pitched our tent in the dark and headed to bed but were then up at 6:30. Most of our days were spent on the 4-wheelers exploring the trails.... when it wasn't raining... and most of the time when it was too! Everytime we went out, the rain decided to come. Needless to say we were soaked more than once and I spent a day just trying to dry out my shoes. And we woke up to the Great Lakes inside our tent. Even with the rain it was a lot of fun! And we made it home on Friday, July 31. Here's some pictures from the trip!

Ever since Kacey and I got married, I promised my neices that they could come sleep over and go swimming. My sister did this with me when I was little and I've never forgotten it. Wednesday night we had Maddy over. We watched Kung Fu Panda and went swimming on Thursday morning.
