Our Kitchen if Getting a Work Out!

Kacey and I have recently actually been making use of our kitchen! This is a pretty new development for us as we are never together for any of our meals. Here are some of our latest "projects"

One night... I attempted to make waffles. Usually this would be a very sucessful venture... but this night... we didn't have any eggs. :-( It was a sad night for me.

Another night... Kacey made pizza! He made the dough in the breadmaker we got from his parents for Christmas. We're lucky we had enough pepperoni for the pizza since we kept eating it!

Tonight, I made cookies for our Sunday school class at church. I've never made these before but they look like they came out pretty good! Now, hopefully they taste good too!

Sleeping Puppies

Ebony recently destroyed her bed and has been in need of a new one. So Kacey bought stuff to make it and his mom was nice enough to make it for us! Needless to say...

She likes her new bed!

Lucy on the other hand... has not destroyed her bed. BUT I caught this video of her today. Right before this she was barking in her sleep and that is what I was hoping to catch. However... I got this. Keep in mind she is ASLEEP until the very end of the clip when she starts to get up.

Sick/Injured :-(

The latest news with Kacey and I is that I am sick and he is injured. It nothing serious but it is still no fun.

About a week ago Kacey broke a tooth and has since been to the dentist. He has had one tooth pulled and the one he broke needs a root canal. We're still waiting on the root canal to happen. Since Kacey and only been eating and drinking dairy products by the doc's orders. But that hasn't been all that bad...

I made that for him... so he can't claim that! It is an oreo milkshake made with cookies-n-creme ice cream. I'm not going to lie... It's REALLY good!

About the same time that Kacey broke his tooth I caught a cold. Luckily this is a pretty light one and I'm just greatful that it is not one that knocks me in bed for two days.
Hopefully these little episodes will be over soon.

Christmas Breakfast

Every year on Christmas morning I get up and cook breakfast for my entire family. I've been doing this since I was about 10 years old. With this being my first Christmas "away" from my family I wondered what I would do. I decided that I could still make breakfast but it would be for a much smaller family. It would truly be for my little family of Kacey and I... and our two dogs, Lucy and Ebony.
When Kacey and I woke up I made pancakes for us and we opened the wet dog food we got for Lucy and Ebony. Lucy had duck and Ebony had lamb. We got some pictures of Eb trying to get into her can but Lucy's was gone before we got the camera. Here are the pictures of Eb diligently trying to get her lamb out of the can.

Our First Christmas... as an old married couple haha

It's been a while since I did a post so I'll catch up today!

Christmas for my family is on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, Kacey had to work but I went to my mom's house. We had a nice dinner on paper plates! NO DISHES!!! That's the best way to go for big get togethers. We let our food settle and then ate dessert.

Finally, we opened our presents! The kids were pretty excited! My sister, Karen, and her family had Kacey and I this year. They gave us some cool stocking hangers that is also a nativity! I didn't get a picture of them before Kacey took them down but we LOVE them! Along with 3 of my siblings, I got my mom an iPod. She loved it! Everyone also got the traditional gifts, all the adults got new socks and the kids got new PJ's.

I made it home at about 10:30 and still had a few presents to wrap for my hubby. Unfortunately, he was already home from work... SO.... I made him lock himself in the bedroom while I wrapped them and then had to hide the evidence of where they came from.

Kacey's family normally does Christmas on Christmas Day but Kacey couldn't wait to open his presents. So we also openned our gifts from each other. Kacey got a new Hollister sweatshirt and Abercrombie PJ pants. Kacey got me a new Hollister sweatshirt and a collection of Alfred Hitchcock's work. I am so excited about it! We got eachother a few other things as well.

On Christmas morning we opened our stockings. We filled eachother's stockings with candy and a thing called a "Squirmy". We just hung out at home until Kacey had to go to work.

Luckily Kacey's team got sent home early and only had to work 2 hours! So we headed up to Greely to Kacey's sister's house to see the rest of his family. Kacey's parents bought eachother a Wii so we had a lot of fun playing eachother!

I would say this was a pretty successful First Christmas together!
